The Federal Oral Court No. 7 revealed testimonies describing movements of bags of money at the Quinta de Olivos residence and in Cristina Kirchner's Recoleta apartment, complicating the situation of the former head of state.
Third 'Notebooks' hearing: reading of charges and discussion on the lack of merit
According to the Argentine News Agency, one of the most impactful testimonies read during the day was that of Claudio Uberti, former head of OCCOVI. 'She was seen jogging towards the chalet where the money was left,' states the document read by the magistrates.
The corporate fundraising scheme was detailed through the confession of Carlos Wagner, former head of the Construction Chamber. According to his statement, this information was entrusted to him by former private secretary José María Olazagasti. 'In Cristina's time, we also carried bags of money,' he stated.
' They did not manage to obtain any proof that accredits the crimes,' Cristina Kirchner stated in her written presentation, qualifying the case as a 'deliberate investigation' against her and denouncing that the notebooks were 'fabricated'.
In turn, the Court also read the former president's defense, who categorically denied the accusations.
The Supreme Court Justice, Ricardo Lorenzetti, urged the magistrates to 'work during the summer' to expedite a trial that marks the political pulse of the Comodoro Py courts.
Uberti also described the sending of 'suitcases of different sizes' to Santa Cruz via the Tango 01. Likewise, the statements of Oscar Centeno, the driver whose notes gave rise to the case, were aired. The former official affirmed that 'the day Néstor Kirchner died, there were more than 60 million dollars in the Juncal apartment'.
Buenos Aires, November 21 (NA) -- The third hearing of the oral trial for the Notebooks case exposed the cruelest details of the illegal fundraising scheme denounced by the 'repentant'.
